CWVAN Performing Arts Award presented to InterACT Youth Theatre

At the Cheshire West Voluntary Arts Awards at Chester Town Hall on the
5th June, Neston's InterACT Youth Theatre received the award for the
Performing Arts Category. The award recognised the quality of the work
on their production of 'The Snow Dragons' by Lizzie Nunnery. This was
originally presented as part of National Theatre Connections. The
production was performed at Neston Civic Hall, The Lowry and at the
Gladstone Theatre in Port Sunlight as part of the Leverhulme Drama
Festival. The play has already won the under 16s trophy at the
Leverhulme as well as the adjudicators trophy for best youth play. The
young cast also performed at the National Drama Festival Association's
All England Final at the Lamproom in Barnsley.

Members of the cast collected the award and also performed scenes from
their new play 'The Blue Electric Wind' Their showcase was seen by the
invited guests from many creative genres in the Cheshire West and
Chester region.

Artistic Director, Samantha Giblin said she is very proud of the efforts
of all of the cast as it was one of those rare moments in time when a
piece of work and a group of people came together to create something
really special, This has been acknowledged and validated with many
awards. Thanks to CWVAN for their support for our young people and
their efforts in the Neston region.
